Pear Leather

So there was a big sale on pears. 60 cents a lb. So Carolyn and I bought a TON and dried most of them but when we got tired of cutting pears we decided to make some leather :) 1. rinse pears and let dry.
2. Cut into chunks and puree. (I used a food processor) 3. Put on drying trays. I used freezer paper because I didn't have the leather trays for the dryer.
3. Eat up.
What I learned: 1. I didn't puree it enough....it was too chunky. 2. You really need the leather trays. As you can see it didn't turn out very thick, which can be fixed the next time because with the special trays they have a little lip on the edges. :) Also, they don't store very good. You'll need to put them in the fridge or freezer.
